In 1991, Winterville, North Carolina became the home
of Wimpies Grill when Scott Joyner recognized the
need for a quality sandwich restaurant to accommodate
the rapid residential growth. In 1995, as a
result of the success of the grill, an additional
800 square feet was acquired to handle the growth.
Scott's wife, Kim, inspired him to use the additional
space to open an Oyster Bar in the evening hours.
The people of Pitt and surrounding counties took
the oyster bar by storm, and it rapidly grew beyond
the capacity of the location. In 1999, it
was once again time to expand. Moving into
the historical Ange building offered a beautiful
restored atmosphere for dining and room for an expanded
menu, thus Wimpie's Steam Bar and Cajun
Cafe was born.
The Joyner family - Kim, Scott, and Amanda - would
like to welcome you and hope you experience the
Wimpie's tradition of enjoying quality food and
a friendly atmosphere.
